Dermaplaning Demystified: Your Pathway to Youthful, Glowing Skin!

Dermaplaning is fast becoming the most popular spa treatments in Orlando Florida, for exfoliation without chemicals!  Simple and safe, Dermaplaning is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure with virtually no downtime that rids the skin of fine vellus hair (or peach fuzz) resulting in refined, smooth and glowing skin giving an instant improvement to skin texture and tone along with the long term effects that include increased cell turnover, fewer wrinkles, dark spots, reduction of acne scarring, deeper product penetration and smoother makeup application.

A Dermaplane treatment is done with a special instrument that has a small blade and as it is moved back and forth over your skin gently removes the top layers of the skin.  Safe for all skin types, however, Dermaplaining is not recommended if you have existing inflammatory skin conditions such as active acne, rosacea, psoriasis, eczema or sunburn.  This procedure usually takes anywhere from a few minutes to an hour.

Before a dermaplane treatment, it is recommended that you discontinue the use of any products such as glycolic acid, retinol, tretinoin or any type of astringent that already has exfoliating agents.   For the next 24 hours, you should avoid sun exposure, exercising and saunas or hot tubs. However, after 24 hours you can resume your regular skincare routine. Although, sunscreen is a MUST and should be used daily beginning the day after treatment.  It is recommended that you use a physical sunscreen with Broadband UVA and UVB protection and a SPF of 30. 

Dermaplaning removes 21 days’ worth of skin cells and is ideally recommended once a month for optimal results which allows the skin to complete its rejuvenation cycle before your next treatment.
